“How to create a “model-home like
setting”, so that your home sells fast, for top
dollar.”
|
Furniture: Put oversized furniture in a storage facility. Work
hard to create a feeling of openness. I have been in homes
where it is hard to get around because there were so many
pieces of furniture.
Books: Books should be
removed except for one or two books on each book shelf. Books
can draw attention away from the beauty of your home.
Kitchen: In
the kitchen, pack all unused appliances. Hide all other
appliances. Remove any personal items like pictures, notes,
and magnets from the fridge. Clean and clear out under the
kitchen sink. Buyers frequently look under there when looking
at the kitchen.
The Outside: The sides and front of your
home: Consider power-washing
the exterior paint and eaves. Make sure to remove cobwebs
and dirt. Clean the glass panes in your outdoor lights, polish
the brass and replace any burned out light bulbs.
The Front
Door:
First impressions count! The front
door and front door area should be clean and free of dirt,
cobwebs, dead plants, and toys. Most homes need the door-frame
and door painted. Replace the doorknob if it looks tacky,
damaged, or doesn’t work
properly. |
