-------------------------
On December 17th, 2005 I lost my sweetheart to ovarian
cancer. Betty was one of the sweetest, gentlest people I have ever
met. The world lost an angel on earth when she
passed.
She was diagnosed
September 30th, after surgery to remove what we thought was a cyst.
The cyst turned out to be cancer. After a few more tests the doctors
determined that the cancer had spread throughout her body. They sent
her home to die, as there was no curing her at this stage (Stage
4).
We found out that the
cancer was in her bones, liver, lungs and probably in her digestive
tract. Her illness and death was difficult, painful and scary for
her and for her loved ones.
She had no idea she was
this ill, until it was too late.
1 in 55 women will get
ovarian cancer. 75% are diagnosed in Stage 4. By then it is too
late.
Ovarian Cancer "whispers"
its symptoms. Women don't realize they are sick because of how
subtle the warning signs are. If you are a woman and you have any of
the following symptoms, please take heed and have them checked. For
your sake, and for all of those who care about you.
I guess if I can save one
family from going through what Betty's family and I went through by
putting this page on my site, it will be worth it.
